Islamic Prayer Rug, Teal Blue Ottoman Inspired Mihrab with Muqarnas and Girih
Bring the architectural beauty of Islamic art into your prayer space with this striking teal blue Islamic prayer rug. The design centers on a grand multi-tiered Mihrab arch surrounded by intricate Muqarnas vaulting, geometric Girih patterns, decorative architectural columns, and flowing Arabesque floral scrollwork.
The vibrant teal blue field creates a rich focal point, while deep charcoal black alcoves and structural details add dramatic depth. Soft dusty pink panels provide a refined accent, while cream and off-white lines highlight the intricate geometric and floral ornament. Medium gray woven end borders and functional tassels complete the architectural composition.
COLOR PALETTE
• Vibrant Teal Blue – Dominant architectural field, arches, and primary borders
• Deep Charcoal Black – Internal alcoves, shadows, and structural details
• Soft Dusty Pink – Decorative panel accents and repeating border sections
• Cream / Off-White – Fine Arabesque lines, architectural highlights, and motif details
• Medium Gray – Woven end borders and functional tassels
ISLAMIC ARCHITECTURAL MOTIFS
• Mihrab – The central multi-tiered arch traditionally indicates the Qibla direction and provides a visual focus during Islamic prayer.
• Muqarnas – Intricate honeycomb-like geometric vaulting inspired by classical Islamic architectural ornament, emphasizing complexity, symmetry, and geometric order.
• Girih Geometric Rosettes – Repeating star and polygon networks inspired by Islamic geometric decoration, creating a strong sense of symmetry and visual continuity.
• Architectural Columns – Slender decorative pillars frame the central Mihrab composition and enhance its architectural depth.
• Arabesque Floral Scrollwork – Flowing vines, stylized leaves, and botanical forms create an elaborate decorative framework inspired by traditional Islamic ornament.
