Custom Prayer Mat, Muslim İslamic Prayer Rug

TERRACOTTA ROYAL BLUE ANDALUSIAN MIHRAB PRAYER MAT

This richly detailed prayer mat combines an Andalusian and Ottoman-inspired architectural composition with traditional botanical ornament and geometric detailing. A vibrant Terracotta / Coral Red foundation is complemented by Royal Blue, Muted Gold / Sand, Cream / Ivory, Dark Charcoal Black, and Medium Gray accents.

The central composition is built around a grand multi-tiered Mihrab arch, with twin horseshoe-style arches, decorative architectural columns, Hatayi-inspired arabesque floral scrolls, and a geometric rosette tile panel creating a richly structured prayer design.

COLOR PALETTE

Terracotta / Coral Red forms the main background throughout the central arabesque panels and lower geometric tile sections.

Royal Blue provides contrast within the upper pointed crown borders and architectural alcove areas.

Muted Gold / Sand defines the major archways, classical pillars, architectural outlines, and decorative framework.

Cream / Ivory highlights the horizontal lace-like arabesque panel positioned above the central arch.

Dark Charcoal Black adds depth beneath the scrolling botanical elements and follows the narrow outer framing borders.

Medium Gray is used for the woven end-borders and functional hanging tassels at the top and bottom edges.

MOTIFS & TRADITIONAL MEANINGS

Mihrab / Multi-Tiered Architectural Arch:
The central composition features a grand layered and scalloped arch inspired by classical Islamic architectural forms. The Mihrab traditionally represents the prayer niche and is associated with the direction of prayer and the Qibla.

Double Window Alcove / Twin Arches:
Two symmetrical horseshoe-shaped arches appear within the central Mihrab field, supported by smaller decorative pillars. Their specific traditional symbolic interpretation is uncertain; here they function primarily as an architectural reference to historical Islamic and Andalusian decorative architecture.

Architectural Pillars / Columns:
Slender decorative columns support the outer arch and inner twin alcoves. Their detailed bases, rings, and capitals add architectural structure to the composition. Columns can traditionally evoke ideas of support, stability, and strength.

Arabesque Floral Scroll / Hatayi Style:
Dense winding vines, stylized leaves, and traditional botanical blossoms spread across the red fields, borders, and upper panels. Arabesque-inspired ornament is associated with ordered natural forms, continuity, and the harmony of decorative composition.

Geometric Rosette Tile:
The lower panel contains repeating circular, multi-petaled geometric rosettes framed by interlocking lines. Their specific traditional symbolic interpretation is uncertain, but they provide a strong architectural and geometric rhythm.

DESIGN & OVERALL COMPOSITION

The multi-tiered Mihrab creates the primary focal point of the prayer mat, surrounded by an intricate architectural framework.

Inside the main arch, the symmetrical twin alcoves create a window-like architectural composition. Slender columns provide visual structure while dense arabesque scrollwork fills the surrounding Terracotta / Coral Red fields.

Royal Blue panels add strong contrast to the upper composition, while Muted Gold / Sand and Cream / Ivory architectural details define the major forms.

The lower geometric rosette panel creates a structured foundation beneath the central architecture, while Dark Charcoal Black outlines add visual depth to the surrounding botanical ornament.

The combination of architectural arches, floral scrollwork, geometric rosettes, and contrasting colors creates a rich traditional appearance with a visually layered, relief-like effect within the printed artwork.
