PREMIUM & LUXURY OTTOMAN-INSPIRED DEEP CRIMSON MIHRAB PRAYER MAT
This elegant Turkish Muslim prayer mat features a refined Ottoman and Persian court-inspired design centered around an open, multi-lobed Mihrab arch. The composition combines Deep Crimson Red, Midnight Navy Blue, Cream / Ivory, Terracotta / Burnt Orange, and Medium Gray with intricate floral, botanical, architectural, and geometric details.
The design creates a clean and focused Crimson Red central prayer field, framed by ornate Cream / Ivory spandrels and a richly decorated Midnight Navy Blue outer border. Large Shah Abbasi-inspired palmettes, continuous floral vines, arabesque foliage, and geometric guard bands create a sophisticated balance between an uncluttered prayer area and detailed classical ornamentation.

🎨 COLOR PALETTE
Deep Crimson Red — The main background color of the central open Mihrab prayer field, creating a rich and distinctive focal area.
Midnight Navy Blue — Forms the background of the wide outer decorative border and provides strong contrast against the Crimson Red central field.
Cream / Ivory — Used throughout the upper spandrels surrounding the arch and in selected floral and decorative details.
Terracotta / Burnt Orange — Appears as a warm accent within the large palmettes and scrolling botanical elements of the outer border.
Medium Gray — Used for the woven end borders and the functional hanging tassels at the top and bottom edges.
🕌 TRADITIONAL MOTIFS & DESIGN DETAILS
Mihrab Arch
The upper central section features a prominent multi-lobed pointed Mihrab arch that defines the beginning of the Crimson Red prayer field.
The Mihrab is traditionally associated with the prayer niche found in a mosque and the direction of the Qibla. It provides a visual focal point for prayer and spiritual concentration.
Arabesque Scroll
The Cream / Ivory spandrels surrounding the upper arch are filled with densely intertwined scrolling foliage and delicate winding floral stems.
Arabesque botanical compositions are traditionally associated with continuous growth, natural rhythm, harmony, and the endless nature of creation.
Shah Abbasi Palmette
Large symmetrical palmette forms appear at alternating intervals throughout the wide outer border.
Palmette imagery is a prominent feature in many classical Persian and Ottoman-inspired carpet designs and is traditionally associated with floral beauty, abundance, garden imagery, and flourishing life.
Floral Border Vine
A continuous undulating botanical vine connects the large palmettes with rosettes and smaller leaf forms throughout the main outer border.
The continuous movement of the vine creates a sense of rhythm and visual continuity. Botanical vine imagery is traditionally associated with natural growth, interconnectedness, and harmonious order.
Reciprocal Geometric Band
A narrow geometric guard border frames the central field with a repeating cross-hatched or checkerboard-like pattern.
The specific traditional symbolic interpretation of this geometric band is uncertain, so it is presented here primarily as a decorative framing element.
🌿 OVERALL DESIGN & SYMBOLISM
The composition combines a visually open central prayer field with richly ornamented surrounding borders. The Deep Crimson Red Mihrab field provides a strong central focus, while the Cream / Ivory upper sections create a lighter transition toward the Midnight Navy Blue outer border.
The combination of the Mihrab, arabesque foliage, palmettes, floral vines, and geometric guard bands creates a balanced design inspired by classical Islamic decorative traditions.
🏛️ OTTOMAN & PERSIAN-INSPIRED DESIGN
This prayer mat draws visual inspiration from classical Ottoman and Persian court carpet aesthetics, particularly the use of symmetrical architectural forms, palmettes, scrolling botanical compositions, floral borders, and carefully structured guard bands.
The design combines a relatively open prayer area with elaborate border ornamentation, creating a sophisticated decorative textile suitable for both prayer and interior presentation.
🧵 PREMIUM MATERIAL & CONSTRUCTION
The prayer mat is produced with a soft, smooth surface designed for comfortable everyday prayer use.
The approximately 7 mm construction provides a soft feel while maintaining a practical, flat profile. The woven cotton backing provides a non-slip base, while the smooth, lint-free surface makes the mat easy to maintain.
The artwork is produced using high-resolution digital printing, allowing fine floral, botanical, architectural, and geometric details to be reproduced with clarity.

Good customer service, but not backed with the quality of the product. I believe it is false advertising saying Handmade when it is not. Hopefully the seller removes such words. I have purchased many other handmade carpets in Türkiye.
